The Education Mandate of Living Faith Church Worldwide was delivered
on 12th May,1998 to God’s Servant, Bishop (Dr.) David Oyedepo, the
visionary leader and Apostle over the Living Faith Church, Worldwide.
According to him, there was a marching order of the church into the
establishment of educational institutions from God as follows: ‘As the
light of the world, go and set the pace, go and blaze the trail, go
and show them the way to do it’.
This prophecy was delivered from Mathew 5: 13-16.... ‘Ye are the salt
of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it
be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and
to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city
that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle
and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.’ The above revelation marked the birth of the Education
Mandate which heralded the involvement of the Commission in Education.
In the words of Bishop (Dr.) David Oyedepo, the Commission’s
involvement in education is not for business or competition but ‘the
received of the Lord’ to be the vanguard to open up the destinies of
young people. The Education Commission (EC) therefore is an off-shoot
of the Education Mandate which was established in July 2008 as a
separate Department to actualize the vision that birthed the Education
Mandate. Consequently, the Education Commission operates the following
three tiers of educational institutions:
The Education Commission’s primary responsibility is to bring revolution in education that would help to discover, develop and actualize the God-giving potentials of all learners so that they can become responsible individuals to the society, themselves and to the glory of God.
The founding philosophy of the Education Commission is to produce God fearing spiritual giants that would ultimately emerge as world changers, trail blazers, pathfinders and record breakers in their respective fields of endeavours. The philosophy is based on the development of the individual into a sound and effective leader and the provision of equal access to educational opportunities at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
